The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) is proud to announce that Erik van Veenendaal has been awarded the prestigious title of ISTQB® Fellow during the ISTQB® General Assembly held in Copenhagen.
The ISTQB® Fellow Program recognizes individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the organization and to the advancement of software testing worldwide. The ISTQB® Fellow is an honorary position awarded to exceptional individuals whose leadership, vision, and dedication have had a lasting impact on the ISTQB® community and the global testing profession.
Erik van Veenendaal has been closely involved with ISTQB® since its inception, contributing significantly to its development and success. He served as Vice President from 2005 to 2009, co-authored ISTQB® syllabi, chaired working groups, and served as an editor of the ISTQB® Standard Glossary of Terms used in Software Testing.
Erik is also a founding member of the Belgium and Netherlands Testing Qualifications Board (BNTQB) and the Curaçao Testing Qualifications Board (CTQB), furthering ISTQB®’s reach and impact.
Beyond ISTQB®, Erik played a pivotal role in the development of the Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi), a framework complementary to ISTQB® that focuses on test process improvement. As CEO of the TMMi Foundation from 2017 through 2024, he led a period of significant international growth in certified organizations and chapters.

Erik is also a prolific author, having written numerous books, papers, and articles on software testing and quality. He is a frequent keynote speaker at international conferences and has been recognized with the ISTQB® International Testing Excellence Award (2015).
