Brussels, 27 May, 2026 – The International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB®) announces the official release of its latest specialist-level certification: Certified Tester Quality in DevOps (CT-QDO).
The ISTQB® CT-QDO certification equips professionals working in DevOps-based software development with the quality engineering and testing practices needed to achieve high-quality outcomes. Specifically, it helps learners to:
- Explain How Quality Assurance Is Supported by and Contributes to the DevOps Concepts
- Understand the Concepts of Implementing DevOps in an Organization
- Contribute to All Value Stream Stages to Assist in Quality Engineering
- Contribute to the DevOps Loop Implementation

- Implement Automated Testing in DevOps Teams
- Implement Manual Testing in DevOps Teams
- Select Tools Supporting DevOps Within the Organization
- Understand Technologies and Practices to Support Quality in DevOps
The syllabus is particularly valuable for anyone who sits at the intersection of quality and DevOps – testers, test analysts, test engineers, test automation engineers, test managers, quality leads, software developers, DevOps engineers, site reliability engineers, operations engineers, scrum masters, and product owners since it establishes a common language and methodology for quality engineering across the entire DevOps team.
A Valuable Addition to the Testing Industry

The CT-QDO syllabus was developed by a global team of DevOps and testing experts and formally approved by the ISTQB® General Assembly on April 17, 2026.
